2024 YPE Boston Mentorship Program
The YPE Boston Mentorship Program is a cornerstone initiative within the broader YPE mission, which seeks to propel the advancement of young professionals in the global energy sector by establishing connections with our vibrant Mentor network. Rooted in a commitment to fostering a collaborative environment, the mentorship program serves as a vital platform for individuals aspiring to make their mark in the energy industry to get direction on their past, current, and future career decisions. Through a blend of social, educational, and civic service-oriented events, YPE endeavors to create a space where members can exchange ideas, share experiences, and engage in meaningful discussions about career development with energy professionals that have already been in their shoes.
For Mentees:
For aspiring and early professionals in the energy industry (0-5 years of experience), the YPE Mentorship Program offers a unique opportunity to connect with seasoned mentors, tapping into their learnings from direct work experience. By participating in mentorship groups, mentees gain valuable insights, exchange ideas, and access a wealth of industry knowledge. The program is strategically designed to empower mentees to navigate their career paths, identify growth opportunities, and cultivate a robust professional network within the energy sector. Through this mentorship journey, mentees are poised to accelerate their career development and contribute meaningfully to the energy industry.
For Mentors:
The YPE Mentorship Program invites experienced professionals (5+ years of experience) in the energy sector to share their expertise and simultaneously amplify their impact by contributing to the growth of the next generation of leaders. By becoming mentors, seasoned individuals play a pivotal role in shaping the industry's future, imparting practical insights, and cultivating meaningful relationships with mentees. Engaging in mentorship within YPE is a strategic opportunity for experienced professionals to give back to the industry, leaving a lasting impact on the professional journeys of emerging leaders while expanding and enriching their own professional network within the ever-evolving energy sector.

Program Schedule
Applications open until April 26th 2024
Program officially runs from May until the end of August
In person kick-off the first or second weekend of May
Mentor/mentee small groups meet once a month (min.)
Monthly meetings often involve, but are not limited to, grabbing coffee or a meal, touring the workplace, having a planning session at the local library, or going for a walk at the park.
Sessions may include catching up on industry news, sharing anecdotes of career your career journey, strategizing to achieve short-term and long-term career goals, and more!
