Join Young Professionals in Energy Boston (YPE Boston) and the IEEE Power & Energy Society Boston Chapter on Thursday, November 19 at 5:00 pm for an evening of networking and technical insights into the future of the electric grid!
We’ll kick things off with a YPE-hosted networking happy hour at Puddingstone Tavern, bringing together professionals across the energy, power, and clean energy industries. It’s an opportunity to meet fellow young professionals, connect with electrical engineers and industry experts, and build relationships across Boston’s energy community.
Following the happy hour, attendees are invited to join IEEE PES Boston at Wentworth Institute of Technology for a technical presentation: Interconnection of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and Grid Modernization
Speaker: Babak Enayati, Vice President, Grid Integration at Nexamp
"As distributed energy resources continue to grow, integrating them into the electric grid presents increasingly complex technical and regulatory challenges. This presentation will explore DER interconnection requirements, IEEE 1547 standards, protection challenges associated with inverter-based resources and microgrids, and emerging grid modernization strategies, including battery storage and non-wires alternatives."
